伊索(約前620年-前560年)，古希臘著名的哲學家、文學家，與克雷洛夫、拉·封丹和萊辛并稱世界四大寓言家。
他曾可能是埃塞俄比亞人，后做過薩摩斯島雅德蒙家的奴隸，并被轉賣多次，但因知識淵博，聰穎過人，最后獲得自由。
伊索環游世界，為人們講述他的極富哲理的寓言故事，他后來被德爾菲人殺害。
公元前5世紀末，"伊索"這個名字已是古希臘人盡皆知的了，當時的古希臘寓言都歸在他的名下，他創作的寓言深受古希臘人民的喜愛。現存的《伊索寓言》原名《埃索波斯寓言故事集成》，是后人根據拜占廷僧侶普拉努得斯搜集的寓言，以詩或散文的形式結集。以及人們陸續發現的古希臘寓言及古羅馬寓言匯編而成的，卻統歸在伊索名下了。

畢業于臺灣銘傳大學，后去美國深造，曾經在臺灣的美國學校兼職。
